This week’s startup – Spicerr

Spicerr merges digital technologies with the world of flavoring using a smart appliance that makes your culinary experience simpler, smarter and tastier than ever before.

Spicerr is an electronic handheld device that comes with capsules made of quality spices, herbs, as well as a wide range of natural extracts. This product is controlled through a mobile app, that is equipped with AI services.

――― Why did you establish Spicerr?

We recognized that we had the ability to significantly improve the food and cooking scene, and created Spicerr to elevate the entire culinary experience.  Home cooks typically do not have a lot of knowledge concerning the world of seasoning and flavoring, and as a result miss out on creating delicious meals at home. Mastering how to properly use spices, herbs, and extracts is time consuming, messy and complicated.

――― What is unique about your product and your technology?

Spicerr is the first appliance of its kind offering consumers the ability to focus on their cooking and flavoring preferences with a device that simplifies the process of creating flavorful dishes while matching consumers’ personal preferences. Spicerr can be used on a wide range of dishes, such as baked goods, drinks, yogurts, meats, etc. The product has been developed based on multidisciplinary and cutting-edge technologies and is protected by a set of pending global patents.

――― How is your product influenced by market trends?

The media and technology in general have influenced current cooking trends in a big way. First many turn to their mobile devices to assist with cooking. There are also unlimited options to find inspiration both online and on TV, all dedicated to cooking, including celebrity chefs’ channels and cooking reality shows. We believe that Spicerr is a great asset to these trends as it utilizes new innovative technology to make food meet its greatest possible taste potential.

――― What are your plans for commercialization?

We have a fully working product and we are planning to have the product available to consumers by the end of 2021.

Rahav Cohen, CTO and Co-founder of Spicerr

――― Who are your partners?

IFF (International Flavors & Fragrances) is our core partner and investor. We are also in advance discussions with some of the world’s food giants in order to expand our strategic alliances.

――― Where do you see your product within 5-10 years?

We see Spicerr being used by millions of households around the world and see our product as something that will redefine the food market.

Spicerr aims to have a significant role in the technological revolution of household kitchens. We are also planning to cooperate with robotical cooking manufacturers, using our smart dispenser for flavor management.
