Owner and founder of ceramic studio Noa Razer, Noa drew her initial inspiration from studying archeology. A prehistoric archeology student at her university, Noa studied the art form of ancient pottery and applied her learnings to her passion for ceramics.
While studying the history of arts and artifacts from the past, Noa developed a love for cultural and sociological studies. Working at the Israel museum at the time, she was exposed to ceramics with history and the influences that they had on the people of their time.
Inspired by her studies, Noa began working on a ceramic project. What started as a simple appreciation and passion for ceramics quickly became a great success, after receiving an order for over 5,000 vases from the project. The attention and demand for Noa’s ceramics grew, and by 2016 Noa was planning the opening of her first studio.
Noa’s first collection was released 3 years ago. Titled the Apilar collection, Noa was greatly influenced by her deep connection with Spain. Having moved to Spain with her family, Noa was exposed to the cultures, values, and most importantly, art of Spain. The use of terracotta and curved shapes is an homage to the culture Noa fell in love with as a young age. The Apilar collection consists of 9 different designs made from ceramic molds.
Ceramic molding is a technique where molds are used to create different shapes and patterns for ceramics. This allows for an accurate product to be created every time. ISRAERU was able to speak with Noa to get more information on the Noa Razer ceramics.
